Starter Generator Shorting Out on Frame? Lift or Heavy Duty Springs?
I have a 2001 Club Car DS that has had starter generator problems. The mechanic thinks that the posts on the starter generator are shorting on the frame. There was a gash on the starter generator (which I installed new) so I know it was scraping...
There wasn't contact before, but I wonder if I bent the frame when I was trying to tighten the belt with a tie strap, wrapping it around the starter generator and frame. It has rear seats, and we have a big family so it definitely gets weighed down. Does this sound like a problem easily fixed with heavy duty springs or a lift kit? Is there an advantage to a lift kit? How do the two compare in cost and ease of installation? Thanks for any help! |
