Default 95 parcar runs after playing with the gas pedal

I am looking into buying a 95 columbia parcar for $1600. It seems to run well after it gets going. The seller is saying the microswitch needs to be replaced but I am not sure that is the problem. The brake also is very loose and does not lock when pressed.

To get it running you have to press the pedal slightly a few times before it will start. Once it starts I have to admit she is pretty darn fast and sounds great. What do you think the problem could be if it was not the microswitch. Is the car worth $1600?

Eh, Par Cars are the red haired step children of carts. Parts are available but there aren't any upgrades to be had. Assuming the cart doesn't have them already things like a lift / back seat and such aren't made. If these things are important to you buy one of the big 3; Club Car, EZGo or Yamaha.

Regarding the price? Yeah, if the cart you are looking at runs well $1600 is probably about right. The micros switch doesn't sound like it might be sticking open. Really, it would be simple to check it before you buy it. Simply bypass the switch altogether by connecting to wires into and out of the switch together. The cart should now start turning with the key switch. If it still hesitates then the problem is something else.

Check out the condition / tightness of the starter belt. If it's worn or not tight enough then it will slip a but upon starting making it seem like the cart is hesitating.
