My Harley backfires when starting if I pull the choke out
I just purchased a Harley Davidson,, My Harley won;t start unless I pull the choke out.. But if I pull the choke it back fires... what do I need to do to fix this>>

Your crank seals are probably going bad which is why you are having to choke so much.
That being said, backfires are normally due to the throttle butterfly on the carb not closing all the way when the driver lets off the gas. Even though spark has stopped there is still fuel flowing into the cylinder. Once spark starts again, BANG! |
