torque specs For wet brake assy bolt G29
Hello everyone, new member with a 2009 G29 that I’m currently working on. I have the regen brake ‘grinding’ noise when I’m decelerating or going down hill and decided to investigate. Transaxle (Green tag) is in as many pieces it can be in and so far And what I’ve found is just a few we’ll used bearings (nothing terrible). Anyway I’m beginning to reassemble and ***looking for torque specs on the tapered socket head screws (5/16 thread)*** that hold the wet brake assy together. Also if there is a need for locktite which I think would be a good call regardless.
BTW, if I figure out this regen noise, I’ll be sure to share since there are a lot of threads about it but no definitive solution. Thanks in advance |

MrProject: Check out the attached pdfs. Scanned the reassembly of the transaxle from a 2007 Service Manual. There are two pages on each 11x17 scanned image. What you need should be there.

Re: torque specs For wet brake assy bolt G29
Any luck figuring out that noise? I'm in the same boat as you. I've done the pennies, replaced that grommet that everyone recommends and have had no luck. At this point, I've completely broken down the transaxle and everything looks great. No chipped teeth on the gears, no noisy bearings, nothing.
The only thing I found was a bearing on the driver side rear axle that was a little hard to turn... nothing major, it just didn't want to free spin like the passenger side did. Guess I'll replace that, just to see, if that noise isn't gone when i put all this stuff back together. |
