Default Need advice/ info Ezgo RXV brake issue

2012 RXV brake replaced in 2016. Brake work’s normally except slow speed where it don’t work at all. Have run into several things at low speed. Any ideas?

Which controller do you have? Danaher or Curtis.

First, are you aware the RXV has no wheel brakes and all braking is done by the motor via regen. The motor can and does bring the cart to a stop and hold it until the brake on the end of the motor engages. It is meant as a parking brake and normally only engages after the cart is stopped by the motor.

Putting taller (more that 18") tires on the cart reduces the fine control at very slow speed because the controller is mapped for the original stock tire size. Controller thinks you are going slower than you are. Your tires are approx. 20.5" tall so speed control at very low speed like parking in the garage or stopping within inches of the cart in front of you will be difficult. You just have to allow for it.

If you are having difficulty at higher speeds, say 2-3 mph, that's different.

In my case I don't have nearly the very slow fine speed control with my RXV as I do with my conventional TXT.

Thanks for the info. Have the same setup on a 2016 RXV AND IT DOES NOT HAVE THIS Problem.

Perhaps a controller difference. 2016 will have the Curtis controller vs the Danaher. There may differences between the two for regen braking programming.

Quite a bit of difference. Curtis controllers have Intellibrake, Danaher does not!
