Solenoid
Has anyone tried to use a generic 12V solenoid on one a early 90's 2 stroker? I would think it would work fine if you found a 2 pole solenoid like what's on there.

Re: Solenoid
Yep. Any 12v solenoid will work with one caveat. It has to be a "continuous duty" solenoid (one that is meant to have current going through it all times while the engine is running) versus "light duty" one that only has current running through while the engine is starting but not while it's running.

Thanks, that was important info! For those needing the same thing Wells U1453 or NAPA ST80 or ST85 will work. The ST85 is a heavier duty copper contact one. Hopefully that's the last breakdown on this beast or I'll be darn tempted to just list it on craigslist/FB MarketPlace and pass her down the line. |
