Talking Not really a Yamaha anymore

Hi guys. I'm obviously new here, but I've been a member of many vehicle and RV enthusiast forums over the years, and at the risk of getting roasted, I'll get this out of the way: yes I'm an idiot, yes I've searched the forums, yes I've spend probably a hundred hours on youtube and reading everything I can get my hands on...I have a six inch stack of wiring diagrams in front of me...but I'm still stuck. I'm actually willing to pay for advice but can't seem to find anyone who will help. Here's the situation:

I'm doing a garage project with my son and managed to get in over my head. Restoring an old Yamaha 1998 G16e Golf Cart. The entire electrical system was stripped out when we bought the cart, so we are starting from scratch. New custom motor, new controller, new wires...everything. Not really a Yamaha anymore!

It seemed simple enough to use manufacturer diagrams from the motor and controller to connect the necessary components...boy was I wrong. I'm an experienced tinkerer and electronics installer but don't have enough electrical knowledge to be confident in marrying all of these systems together (yes I already have a face shield for all the battery acid I'm about to bathe in).

Here's what I have so far:

48v battery bank of 6 Trojan T-875 8V.

Series wound Motor - 2:1 - D&D Part # - 170-002-0001.

Curtis Albright Solenoid - 500 Amp - 36/48 V

Navitas 600amp 36-48v Controller (already programmed for 48v series motor)

New Yamaha throttle sensor

New Yamaha Forward/Reverse switch

Tons of 2,4,6,8,10,12 AWG cable and tinned copper lugs. Plenty of heatshrink tubing

Various new toggle switches

Anyone willing to take a swing? Be gentle.

What's the model number of the controller you got? The only diagrams I see from Navitas that are specifically for Yamaha are for Shunt wind motors. But series motors are typically not all that difficult to wire up.

How much of the "entire" electrical system was gone? Was all of the wiring gone? Or just some main components like motor, controller, switches, etc?
