Re: Roady89's Controller Boost (speed booster)
with those fisher price power wheels i know when you try to double the voltage the brushes heat up and start cracking and eventually blow apart,(never try 36 volts with a 12 volt car)

Re: Roady89's Controller Boost (speed booster)
thats different...these motors can actually spin a lot faster then what 36 or 48 volts will spin them. Sometimes they will give you a rating for 48 volts, but then also give you a rating for max safe speed before the motor with blow apart. Though I wish I had thought about wiring both my 12 volt batteries to my power wheels when I was younger.
I'd just like to see how roady wired it, so I can make sure I wired it to the motor correctly and don't fry anything. I like my controller too much... |

Cutiger.....Do you have the diode? You dont wire it to the motor in any way. I hope you dont plan on boosting without a diode. I would like to see pics of how you wired it.

Re: Roady89's Controller Boost (speed booster)
I haven't yet, thats why I wanna see your diagram, I knew I was forgetting something
EDIT* I was also thinking about using a sealed lead acid battery, 2 12 volt batteries rated for 8ah. would this work? Last edited by CUTiger; 06-19-2007 at 08:39 PM.. |

Re: Roady89's Controller Boost (speed booster)
We run 12 volt SLA's on Muaythias cart. ALL OF THEM are SLA's. Run time isn't good but we keep it charged all the time. 8ah doesn't seem like a very big battery. But yes...you could use them but wont have much boost time.

Re: Roady89's Controller Boost (speed booster)
Their not, only like 6 pounds, I'll probably go with a 12 or 17ah battery.
You wouldn't happen to still have the diagram that was first posted would you? Last edited by CUTiger; 06-19-2007 at 08:50 PM.. |
