Default Club car Engine swap

I need more power in my club car xrt 950 4x4 14 hp vanguard.l would like to go bigger than 16 hp maybe 21 or 23 how much trouble would this be ?

14 and 16 are identical engines, they are both 479cc, but the 14 has a bit smaller carb and some exhaust inserts that choke it down a bit. You could get an 18hp carb for it and install a cam and rev kit, it'll run really good then. Those mods will make a night and day difference in that engine. I've done it and man what a difference.

If you just want a "new" engine, the 23 is what you want. It's not too much bigger in physical dimensions than the 14/16. If you have a little wiggle room inside the engine compartment then it might work. If it's really tight in there you might have trouble getting it to fit. The 23 has way more torque than a stock 16, it would def suit your needs. Now with a cam, rev kit, and mikuni carb? Monster power!

Thanks I have 3000 hrs. on the 14 I might try the 23 I need to see if I have room.
