Default Big Blockin' Pop's TXT

My dad couldn't stand it any longer.. He hit the casinos in Lake Charles a couple of good hits and had me order one of Tom's 23 Vanny kits for his TXT.. This cart is gonna be a stump puller!!! I installed the cam & rev-kit when the engine was delivered last week.. I installed the cam one tooth (4 deg.) advanced for more low end torque.. We're also keeping the stock gears.. I also modified Tom's engine cradle to accept the OEM EZGO skidplate under the engine, to give the passenger side brake cable some protection under the engine cradle..

Got the cart home sunday night, and started on the swap yesterday afternoon.. I disconnected the brake & throttle cables, fuel line, and engine electrical.. Unbolted the front engine mount, then jacked up the rear of the cart and supported it on jackstands.. Ran a floorjack under the engine, and popped the shocks, and axle u-bolts loose.. Lowered the engine/ axle down and rolled the whole works out from under the cart..

Here's some pics of the modded engine cradle and the progress so far.. Hope to have it ready for a test run later this week..

Thanks guys!!!

I got a little bit more done this evening.. Got the engine cradle mounted up to the transaxle, mounted the engine and aligned the clutches.. Mounted up the stock skidplate after torquing down the engine mounting bolts.. It's gonna give the passenger side brake cable some much needed protection from all the crap my ol' man runs over with this cart, it should also keep sticks out of the drive belt.. I got the support bracket made for the muffler, and painted the muffler and bracket with VHT header paint..

Tomorrow, I'll get the exhaust all hooked up, and add a wire to the engine harness for an oil pressure gauge.. I'll also get the tach sensor wiring installed in the harness too.. I should have everything ready to roll back under the cart Thursday night..

Some more pics..

My dad could care less about racing.. He wants the torque of the Vanny for the trails they run up & down checkin hog traps.. This cart is a true workhorse.. It's hauled two 250# riders, with over 400# of hogs loaded on the flatbed over terrain filled with dozer ruts, creeks, and basically making their own trail thru the woods.. He works this cart's butt off!!

Nice job..and thanks for the build pic's! Your dad's going to enjoy the heck out of it. Wish my dad was still around to build something like that for him. He was the gearhead that created me. Later Dave

Hey John you will find a extra wire in harness for oil gauge (yellow) we put in in there to make it a little easier
