Default Admiral Mot b4 paired with 500 amp controller

I have a 2017 Ezgo txt and we have the stock controller and motor and are looking for more speed. I also have a 6” lift with 22” tires. I am trying to get atleast 25 mph but the Ac conversion kits are too expensive. I also don’t want a loss in torque as we have lots of hills. I think this pair would get me there but will it be slower going uphill?

Hi Landon
The Admiral B4 and the XCT48500 control, MZJ400A solenoid, with a 2g cable set will get you well into the 25 mph range with 3 or 4 times the horsepower.

What brand controller do you use?

Alltrax 500 and MXJ400a from Scotty. Its a great setup but I did lose a bit of speed I didn't think I was going to lose. No big deal as it runs fine at 22-23. I hit 27 with the stock motor and the Alltrax 500, 400a solenoid and 2G cables. Honestly I really can't tell the difference between 23/27. The torque is amazing though.

There are speed maps for this motor that may give you back that couple of mph but with big tires and/or hills I rather play it safe and set up customer carts with the torque map.

I had you send me both actually. I am more than happy with it at 23 mph. Its got a ton of power and is still plenty fast. Anything over 25 and honestly I found the ride to be sketchy anyway. I had some ITS throttle calibration issues when I originally installed the Alltrax 500. I think I was running between 90-95% throttle and got tired on fiddling with it (either Alltrax calibration or manually adjusting the ITS). That may be why mine seems to run 3-4 mph less than others with the B4 and speed map.
