I used to be a Jeep nut!
Have had Grand Wagoneers, Cherokees a J10 and J20 series truck and an 85 CJ7...

My CJ had a stock 258 straight 6 when I got it, but I soon discovered that I had "Tim Allan Syndrome"... I wanted more power.

I swapped in a built 401 V8, just over 700 HP after adding the EFI intake system.
I mated that to a TH400 with AMC bell housing and a Dana20 transfer case.
Swapped out the stock front and rear diffs for Dana 60s (left in their original length, for stability) and did a cpring over axle lift along with 4 additional inches in spring packs.
I had 44 inch mickey thompsons all around with about 12PSI, to keep from bouncing....

In 2WD it was hard to keep the front wheels on the ground.

I built it, planning on doing a trip to my home State of Colorado for a little wheeling in the Ouray area. The trip never happened and eventually I sold the jeep...

Jeeps are like crack

I'm finding that all my other hobbies are getting to be like that too

Blessings,
DocS

I’ve been jeeping Ouray for forty years and still haven’t run all the trails yet. It’s truly a remarkable area, the Switzerland of America!
