Default 2002 EzGo Increase Speed

Hi guys, neighbor got a refurbished ezgo 36v with new batts and wants to increase speed above the standard 14 to 19-20mph. What's he need to do to get it there? Pics attached of ezgo passenger side glove box stamp and controller(which uploaded upside down sorry).
Thanks much

If it's a series cart, send the motor to Plum Quick and get the Bandit upgrade. That alone will get you more speed and more torque for $325 plus shipping. If you add 2 more batteries in the bag well (to get to 48volts) which will get you a 33% increase in speed with added torque but you would also have to upgrade the controller and solenoid. Increasing overall tire diameter will also increase speed but lowers torque proportionally. My vote is Bandit, been there and done that. I went from 18mph stock to 21mph.

Thanks.
Isn't there a "freedom chip/personality plug or connector red wire loop" which can be inserted on the controller to increase speed? I'm assuming this would work if this is a pds cart being it has the F/R lever under the legs and it being a 2002 model.

2002 with a run tow switch would have the fnr on the dash and yes you can buy the red freedom chip for it. If the lever is by your leg and has a rod going to the passenger side to a rotating switch that is a series cart so no chip.

To begin with you need to identify exactly what drive system you have. Visit cartsunlimited.net or go to this link https://www.cartsunlimited.net/upgrade-suggestions.html there's a lot of information available on this site to help you out.
