Re: DPI Accusense Gen 4 Charger
Yes, it has no float as we know it. This was a deeply discussed topic when this model came out and when people starting buying it thinking it actually did. It was almost like they tried to change the definition of "float". Turned out it was not like the previous model but if left plugged in it maintains a "maintenance mode" where it will restart after a desinated time or voltage drop. Believe it or not I just actually never let it go there, just unplugged after charge and rode it sooner or later before the batteries dropped off too far. But it actually does an excellant job charging your batteries and I was happy with that.

Re: DPI Accusense Gen 4 Charger
I know I have read several posts on BGW that say the gen IV does not have float but when I called DPI I was told that it indeed did have float. Maybe I talked to someone that didn't know what they were talking about. Was also told that it will cycle on after 28 days if it has NOT been unplugged.

Re: DPI Accusense Gen 4 Charger
Exactly, you just leave it plugged up and it WILL maintain your batteries. Just no continuous float. Actually that topic, continuous float necessity, has been debated also. But what I will tell you, it did a **** good job charging my batteries.

Re: DPI Accusense Gen 4 Charger
It was good when I had Trojans but I switched to Crown CR165’s because that’s all I could find and the DPI would not charge them to 100% because they didn’t have an algorithm that would work. I talked to both DPI and Crown with no help. DPI recommended to use the settings for Trojan T 875 but that didn’t work.

Re: DPI Accusense Gen 4 Charger
Thanks for that information so let me add this to my DPI Charger Description.
If you check their website it has “32 Charge Algorithm Modes available”. |
