Yamaha Drive Motor
Need a new motor for an 08 yamaha drive. Is there anywhere I can get a high torque motor?
I already upgraded the controller to 500 |

Re: Yamaha Drive Motor
What controller? Still Sepex? All the common 19 spline motors will fit, will they be proper for your controller, thats another story. Hmm...who else, besides myself, out there figured out how to upgrade Ydre? A fairly big player in motor controllers has been promising a controller upgrade for Ydre for awhile, but its been "vaporware" so far. If your cart is still Sepex, and controller is programable, there several options. With a Sepex controller, you cant just toss any Sepex motor in there and expect it to work well or last long. The controller must know the characteristics of the motor.

Re: Yamaha Drive Motor
I forgot about that, i tried one of those...took it back off, had heat troubles. Of course, the fact i live in the desert had nothing to do with it :)

Re: Yamaha Drive Motor
I have put Alltrax DCX in several Drives. DCX does not officially support a 0-5v throttle, but i have figured it out. I order the DCX with pds plug and replace the stock yamaha plug. I have also built Alltrax SPM (800amp even, lifts the front tires) series Drives, with reversing contactor. SPM does natively support 0-5v throttle, so it is not too hard (but def. Not plug & play).
