TXT Runs Significantly Faster in Reverse with new motor
Hey everyone,
I pulled my half speed reverse wire today and noticed that my Series-TXT (FR by legs) goes a lot better in reverse. More torque up hill and a lot faster in general. Any idea why this would be? It seems to be all wired correctly. |

Re: TXT Runs Significantly Faster in Reverse with new motor
The motor is an aftermarket Admiral MOT-B2 I believe. Great motor. Is it possible it just spins faster in reverse.

Common observation. It is a result of the motor timing, I am told.

Re: TXT Runs Significantly Faster in Reverse with new motor
I don't know if it will fit mechanically, but installing the differential/axle/motor assembly so the motor is on the passenger side instead of the driver side would charge the way the motor spins for forward and reverse.

Re: TXT Runs Significantly Faster in Reverse with new motor
Here's another crazy idea. Wouldn't it be possible to slot the holes on the brush assemble and rotate it? I know it would be a royal pain and trial and error, but if timing is the difference, wouldn't that accomplish just that?

Re: TXT Runs Significantly Faster in Reverse with new motor
Maybe you can change the motor timing to make the forward timing what the reverse is now. That would require rotating the brushes vs the stator. It may be way more inefficient though.
