Ive heard the handheld is expensive. The speed sensor is the small component on the end of the motor with the wires coming out of it with a plug. I had a similar problem on an 04 CC IQ and it ended up being the controller.

Put the car in gear... either gear..... and roll it with the switch in the RUN position and keyswitch ON.... if the car rolls free it's got a bad speed sensor... If it slows itself down and beeps... The speed sensor it working. On the 2002+ IQ models it's designed to default to 8MPH when the speed sensor fails...

You can buy the sensor from any Club Car dealer... Some dealers may offer rebuilt controllers... we don't. It's too much of a liability. I'd look into finding your closest dealer and seeing if you can find one that way.

Yes I do... You can remove the sensor very easily.. If you have a GE motor..(grey) it'll pop out with a screwdriver... and on an ADC motor it is held down with two bolts... Very easy to get out.

You cant eliminate the speed sensor, even a high speed motor will have it. The most frequently talked about speed motor on this site is probably Plumquick. I have one similar and you would not be disappointed.
