did lithium conversion, now a ? on ride quality
Just a question for the other people here who have also done the lithium conversion.
Being that the cart weighs so much less did you see a stiffer ride? Did you change shocks/springs/tire pressures? I ordered in a set of 'progressive' springs. Supposedly they will handle a rear seat fine but still be supple when unloaded. I'm pretty sure I can drop 2 or 3 PSI on the tires too since I took all the lead out. |

I was considering playing with springs and have had it on the back burner. My factory rear HD springs are too stiff. I did drop my tires like 4psi and it helped

Re: did lithium conversion, now a ? on ride quality
I'm gathering everything for my lithium conversion right now and plan on getting rid of my HD springs and doing a 4-link in the rear with adjustable covers at the same time. I plan on doing a little install thread so maybe it'll give someone some ideas.

That’s basically my plan, which is why it’s been on the back burner. Since my cart already has a track bar I even considered just cutting the leaf spring right behind the axle, and using stock Yamaha rear coil overs. |

I haven't even looked at a leaf spring construction.....but is it possible to remove one leaf? Or are they riveted together?

They're usually banded and bolted. Relatively easy to take apart.
