Default Tire weight

I have a EZGO ST 2 gas cart, and I am about to buy a set of the GBC dirt devils for my cart. I am debating between the 23 and 24".

23" weighs about 15lbs
24" weighs about 25lbs

Is it worth adding an extra 40lbs of weight to the cart just to gain 1/2" ground clearance?

Also what would the advantages/disadvantages be of going with an 8" wide tire instead of a 10" wide?

We run 23x10.5-12 on ours and really like that size, any bigger and heavier takes more power from your cart and puts more strain on it.

That's what I was thinking as well.

Now what is the advantage of running a 23x10x10 or a 23x11x10 vs a 23x8x10?

kinda depends on the ground you are running on and also the look and weight you want. the wider the tire the more it weighs of course. Also if you run on sand or snow alot a wide tire is good to keep you up on top of the sand or snow. If you are in mud (not real deep) and want your tires to spin up easy go with some narrower tires. and of course this all depends on the tread design you choose also

No snow or sand for me. Strictly woods at the hunting camp with occasional mud and around the farm.

So from a tire wear stand point I am not looking at any difference in a 8" wide vs a 10"?

It just doesn't make sense to me to put a 10" wide tire on a 7 or 8" wide wheel.

You get a balloon effect with a 10" tire on a 7" rim which gives a softer ride. But, you are right to minimize both height and weight for better performance. The heavier& taller tires are power & braking effect robbers.
