Anyone using stock 8" wheels with 22-11-8 tires?
I have a 4" lift for my 88 marathon. I'm wanting to upgrade to some 22-11-8 tires. Can I use my stock wheels and just paint them black and run 22-11-8 tires on them with no rubbing? Is the offset on the stock wheel ok?
http://cgi.ebay.com/LIFTED-GOLF-CART...item45f49f01fa Those are the tires and wheels I want but if I can save some money and use my stock wheels then I'll just buy the tires online for $40 a piece. Brian |

You can use the stock wheels but you will need spacers in the rear.I have spacers i built in mine(about 1") and i swapped out the studs for longer ones.If this is the route you would like to go,let me know i'll post the stud numbers. They are availiable thru Advance-Auto and others.Hope this helps.

So no rubbing in the front just the rear? If you don't mind I'd like the part #. Thanks!

Dorman #98235.1 is the replacement for early-80's up to 88,maybe later. If you go on Dormans' web-site they have stud-charts.Remove a stud from cart, measure the length of thread, shank and shank dia.EZ-GO uses a 7/16-20 thread. The number i listed will work 81-87 but i would check first for other applications. After you decide on a part number,or the one i listed,Go to an auto-parts store with the Dorman number, they should be able to give you what you need.Hope this helps.

you can run those tires on your 8" rims as stated, but you will get alot of sway dur to the taller side wall. I perfer to run 10" rims for a 22" tire. You have better control of the cart.

I've been running 22's on 8" rims over 2 years. We run flat-out (23mph) on a farm-trail and it handles great. No sway at all.You can't run them at 5psi you have to firm them up a little.Hope this helps.
