Default Help! 19" tires wont fit stock txt

Ok guys. I was told 19" tires on 14" wheels would fit a stock exgo txt. I started on the back tonight and found this isn't the case with my 2004 I just got. I don't know what route I should go or if there is another problem I'm overlooking. Not to mention it seems like my passenger side is worse than my drivers.

I checked and the leaf springs are in the correct spot. My buddy got the same setup on his 2011 txt and they fit fine. I don't know what the deal is with this thing. So what should I do?

1. Trim the plastic? Which isn't ideal since I just got it wrapped and that would mess that up.

2. Notch the leaf springs enough to move the whole axle forward? If so, is there any problem associated with doing this?

3. Anything else that would be better than 1 & 2?

well one easy fix would be to put different shackles on it....ones that are about an inch longer....which will lift your cart a little to make the extra room.

What is the actual tire size on the side of the tire?

What rims are these?

@Sir Nuke: Wouldn't that make my rear end higher than my front? I'm going for the low look so I don't want to add any height to the suspension.

@skipsmith521: The tire size is a 225x30x14 Madjax Cobra tire with 14" Madjax Mirage wheels.

I read a message thread here that not all tires are accurate in size that is marked.

Did you actually measure the tires?

I thought a TXT could have a max 20.5 inch tire.

I am very interested in this message thread because I am about to order some tires and wheels as well.

You said you just got it, and it looks worse on the passenger side. Where did you get it from? If the springs are seated like they are supposed to be, and it is worse on the passenger side the frame could be bent, or the body could be twisted on the frame, or you could have a bent spring. You may want to look real hard at the underside of the cart and see if it look like it was wrecked. Hope you figure it out, good luck.

@skipsmith: I wasn't able to measure them, but I know they "should" fit as they fit my buddy's txt with the exact same setup.

@whit71: I checked the frame and everything looks fine. The leaf springs are seated properly. Looking at it now it appears the plastics may be warped.

Would I be able to just notch the leaf springs and move the axle up a half inch? Is there anything wrong with doing that?

The tires should measure 19.31" overall using the supplied size of 225/30-14

You mentioned before you just had it wrapped and also the plastic is warped?

Could the wrap have anything to do with it?

I thought about that, but I didn't heat the plastics when I installed it. I only heated the vinyl.
