Be careful with the swivel wheel, Good idea but the small wheel is turning at over 100 mph when your doing 65 depending on the size of tire?

Keep in mind that if you have any "add on" carrier or cargo that extends 2' or more past the vehicle's bumper, it needs to be flagged or have signal lights on it.

So far it doesn't seem like law enforcement is paying much attention to these with the SUV type "hitch haulers", but the majority of these that I see not only block the vehicle's tail lights to some extent, but also the license plate.

I would also think that if it has wheels on it, it would be considered a trailer. I would check your states laws about this.

Yep. Lights are a must. I am a specialized hauler and when I add extra axles, dollies and stingers they must all be tagged. Police seem to leave the campers alone if length is O.K.. I'm temped to build it myself if I can find the swivel assembly. Anyone have an idea on that. I'l build a couple if anyone can find the swivel.

Casper, near as I can tell they are using a torsion bar type stub axle, and you could use a regular stub axle and hub for the pivot portion. Welding the torsion axle to the regular hub mounted verticaly. It would make for plenty strong unit and everything is available at Tractor supply, Nortern Tool, etc........
