Default Auto Watering systems for batteries- yes or no

I have seen a lot of people putting these on their carts...wanted to put this thread out there to get comments as to the pros/cons of these. A lot of shops sell these to folks for the convenience of not having to check water levels, which would be great if they worked as they should. But they don't mention what may happen. My opinion about these is that they are bad ideas and can cause damage to batteries when they stop up or break (without owner knowing) and doesn't keep water levels in batteries at proper levels. I have also heard of them causing explosions by not allowing gases to excape. Your thoughts, like 'em or no?

Not something I would trust. Have had several carts with them and have always swapped to standard caps. I attempted to use the first set I had and had problems with overfilling two cells and nothing to others. If I had a fleet to maintain it might make sense from the time standpoint, but for one or two carts, it's just too easy to open the caps and look.

Thank you, This is good info.
My battery config makes the rear three a little difficult to get to.
I was thinking when done with the restore, I will get the auto system.
I will now rethink the best way to check/add. I think a squeeze bottle with a 2' hose should be sufficient.
By the way this cart will be used on weekends only and charged at the end of the weekend (depending on amount used)
How often should the water level be checked?? Weekly? Once a month? Every other month?

The auto fill hose system can prevent proper venting while charging. This causes a build up of hydrogen gas. It's pretty terrifying when it goes boom. I'll never have one after seeing this ~

I check mine every two weeks but mine get heavy year round use . I use 4 oz syringe to do mine but to go cheap you can pick up restaurant style ketchup / mustard bottle

When i got my Fleet Cart in 2017 i was proud to have it. It seemed to work fine so far, but after reading a post fm cgtech here, that they can fail without notice, i've ordered some new Vent Caps and the Watering System were thrown out. While installing the Vent Caps i found 21 cells filled perfect and 3 overfilled Thank you cgtech...
