Re: New Electric Moke, need more speed
I am looking for someone that can make my Moke go 35MPH. I am in Boston now and will be in Naples this winter.

Re: New Electric Moke, need more speed
31mph on stock size tires was 6250 rpm. I did my best to look up the details on the Moke I was working on and I found two different answers to the max safe RPM for that motor. One site said 6,000 and the other said 6,250. I asked the owner what they wanted and he said to put it up to 6,250.
To reach 35mph you'd need 7,050 rpm on stock size tires. The other option is to increase the tire diameter. 23" tires would change the final gear ratio to get 35mph at 6200 rpm but that adds more stress to the controller. |

Re: New Electric Moke, need more speed
I received the cable and software to increase the speed on Moke. Where does the cable plugged into the controller?

Re: New Electric Moke, need more speed
Just be mindful of the bright orange cables... Don't cut them and don't touch the ends with anything metal.
You take the charger off, after that there's a little stand that's under the charger, over the controller. You take that off. Now you are looking at the controller. there is an environmental rubber plug on top, that's NOT the one you want. The one you want is on the side. It's a USB plug and it has an environmental cover over it too. I had to unbolt the controller to get enough space between the controller and battery to get to that plug to connect it. |

Re: New Electric Moke, need more speed
Before you change ANY setting take screenshots of what it is before any changes. Save those off. That's your safety net.

Re: New Electric Moke, need more speed
Does this look like the software/cable that would be needed?

Re: New Electric Moke, need more speed
That looks like the cable I bought but there are better pictures in your ebay listing then what I had to go on. At least on the ebay listing they show you that it plugs into the USB port on the side of the controller.

Re: New Electric Moke, need more speed
Thanks - I went ahead and offered about half the asking price and it was accepted so I guess I'll see what arrives and report back/ask for help on how to use it. Of course I thought to do a Google search after I bought it, and it is available here for even a little less than I ended up paying:

bronsonj, great information and research / trial / error - thank you for sharing.
Are you available for hire to reprogram and increase max speed to 6250 on new moke? Based in New Smyrna Beach, FL. |
