Re: Need help.....1997 club car ds powerdrive plus
1. Done
2. Yes, 0v with key off. When key turned on, it clicks and shows 49v. 3. And 4. I get almost full battery voltage of 47.2. Then , with key on it clicks and reads full battery voltage of 48v. After 2 seconds, it clicks again and voltage drops to 0. Looks like controller huh? Thanks noles |

Your controller is gone South...(And it will not be back after winter - I promise!!)
And I am going to share my experience with you, if it were mine, I would not place lipstick on a pig or a bandaid on an aneurysm. That 1997 DS is structurally the same as the last 2013 that rolled out the factory. If you want a good cart, find an IQ donor cart or just call David at Revolution Golf Cars and get an IQ harness, MCOR conversion, Run/Tow switch and an XCT controller. (You will have to replace the pigtail on your speed sensor to connect to the IQ harness). You may can call around to cart shops or look in our For Sale section and find the harness and factory IQ controller. |

thank you for your advice. i think we all agree the controller is bad, as well as one solenoid.. now, like you said, maybe we can talk about my options. Should i start or new thread or continue this one? i can get this 300a conversion kit. for 520$ controller and adapter harness. does this just basically turn my cart into a regen 2???? or like you said, just turn it into an IQ cart. wonder how much that would be? may have to call david at rev. carts like you said. what are my other options??? money is the major issue, although thes batterries are at the end of their life cycle and i thought about lithium ion or such upgrade? i would appreciate all you guys thoughts. and info. thanks to all who are helping. does this forum have sponsors that do upgrades? |

Re: Need help.....1997 club car ds powerdrive plus
You would really be a lot better off getting rid of that old harness with lots of sonic-welds and discontinued parts and systems.
Getting an IQ harness and a modern XCT-300 controller that can be programmed would be about the same price. You may also find an used IQ controller in the for sale section for $100-$150 as lots of folks sell them when they upgrade to a new controller. Call David to see if still has any IQ harness and ask him how much would cost to package it with one of the take-off IQ controllers he may have from upgrades. |
