Re: 94 Ezgo, 350es Honda ATV Conversion
The single shock on the rear was weak and the rear was saging.
So I took the front shocks of the donor 350 and made some hangers. The fuel tank and muf are temporary I will be upgrading. Raised the rear an inch. He wants it lower in rear. Ended with good stance. Starting to mark stuf off my list. |

Re: 94 Ezgo, 350es Honda ATV Conversion
OK it rained here all weekend, so guess what? Got the framing of the console done and the electric shifter is "DONE" 2 hours of design 3 weeks of worrying about it and 6 hours of fab.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=udCC...ature=youtu.be I tried to use the shift buttons out of the honda, they didn't work. So I went with two push starter buttons. I thought i had screwed up sat night, I have been welding with the battery hooked up. Thought i had fried the shift computer on the 350. After about 2 hours of drinking beer,........emm i mean trouble-shooting, it ended up i broke a switch on the install. |

Glad to see it was just a switch. That shifter is nice and works smoothly. I need to redesign my shifter linkage once the motor is back running. Something sturdier and better looking.

Re: 94 Ezgo, 350es Honda ATV Conversion
Man im confused,.....
seems when i switch the key on the display does not light up, but if you unplug and replug the connection to the display it goes back to working. From searching on the net and tracing wires and checking connections and double checking everything I think I have it down to a angle position sensor. I think i fried it when i was welding. Since most of all the electronic shifting works off the ground side not the positive. I hope it's the $22 sensor and not the $394 ESU. My dumb a$$ didn't remove the battery cable when welding on the buggy,......pfft. well better days,.... i did manage to cover the console and finish the shifter. (it does work w/o the display, just can't tell what gear im in or how fast i'm going) I used some 1/4" black UHMW and molded some kydex to cover everything up, finished up with some diamond plate. Shifter boot is off a spare rhino shifter i had. A good friend of mine made me a tank, he talked like it was nothing to it. Had a fuel fill cap off a harley. Going to go behind the seat. It holds around 5 gallons. I'm tickled on how it turned out. |

Nice update. Fingers crossed that it's the cheaper part needed to fix it. Your console and shifter looks cool. The gas tank is sweet! Keep it up buddy.

Re: 94 Ezgo, 350es Honda ATV Conversion
Got the tank mounted, working on gas and brake pedal. I should have never temporary riged a gas pedal. I told my son's if they would park it long enough I would work on it. Took it to the dove field yesterday, so it got a workout. The temporary muffler fell off. I'm about to take the word temporary out of this build.
Has anyone ever had to relocate gas and brake pedals? I just can't get it in my head how I want them to look and work. The steering rack is all up in my way. So i may flip them back down to floor,.... |
