Re: has anyone made a kit to use coil spring rear suspension
I have for my CC DS. It should be a whole lot easier for an EZ-GO since the average Joe can weld to the frame.
My set up and it rides so much smoother now. 20190709_213957.jpg 20190522_222619.jpg 20190522_222510.jpg |

They're Fox Podium shocks off a Polaris Outlaw 525 IRS.
Search eBay for the best price/ best condition. They are rebuildable if they ever need reconditioning but so far so good for the last 2 years. |

Those are good shocks. You can get custom valving and springs for them too.

Re: has anyone made a kit to use coil spring rear suspension
Thanks for the response...quick search and I found A06GP50AA looks to be a part number for a 2006 model year front shock, and used anywhere from $80-$140 each, $62 for a rebuild kit, and $260 each new. That's with 10 minutes of searching...so likely could better that cost some, but that should be the ballpark. Thanks NCPW. While expensive, rebuildable and adjustable is the answer. Considering they come off a much smaller machine than a golf cart, the initial spring rate is likely soft. That is a lot of money for all four corners though.

I've also tried UTV shocks, Yamaha Viking, and they are way too hard. The last ones I tried were from a Yamaha Grizzly 660 atv. Perfect! They are a little short, at 12", but they handle fantastic and with two people in the cart they barely squat. I ended up making some 4" spacers that work great. Now once you find the model shocks that work the best, you can order new ones from Bronco that come with 10% slightly stiffer springs and upgraded valving. |
