Elcon Charger Indicating Batteries Disconnected When They Are Connected

I have a six passenger Zone Nev with 8, six volt US batteries and an Elcon 1500 charger. Yesterday when i went to plug it in after driving a bit. the charger light was blinking red-green-red-green-off etc. On top of the charger is some text that says that this light pattern indicates that the batteries are disconnected. They are not disconnected to the best of my knowledge. I disconnected the first positive lead and the charger lead in the series an plugged in the charge just to prove that it was doing the same think. It the same thing. So I reconnected it and it made no difference. I searched all over and cannot find anything. hope fully some one can help.

First thing I would check is cables/wires on backside of charger receptacle in cart and test charger plug to make sure voltage is present. Then I would spray some WD40 on both charger plug and cart receptacle to make sure clean contact between two.

those chargers are just known to go bad.......................
