What is this?
I am upgrading my cables and found the old cable that runs from the battery to the controller going through a thin white (yellowish) square box. The terminals won't go through it. I can go around it but am very curious what it is. I attached pics. Can someone tell me what this is, and is it necessary for anything?

Re: What is this?
It's your OBC or onboard computer that controls the charger. It is vital that the negative cable passes through it for proper charging.

Re: What is this?
Thanks guys. I guess I could cut the cable, run the cable through and buy a new terminal end . I went from 6ga to 2ga. Hope it will go through the computer hole.

Re: What is this?
2 ga cable will fit through the hole. That's one option; you could also make your own stud kit with a bolt, but that introduces more connections into the system.

Re: What is this?
You can see what the stud kit looks like in this thread - its important that you do run your cable thru the OBC, unless you use an aftermarket smart charger and have bypassed your OBC.
