Default Robin 244cc engine carburetor adapter

I have had an 84 ez go for several years and I believe that the crank seals or bearings have failed. It has been sitting for about 5 years since it quot running. I had originally hoped to replace the engine with a 4 stroke but now that I have the old one out I can't find any replacement which will fit without a new rear end. All the engines I have found have the cylinder on the opposite side of the shaft to the original. If anyone has any ideas for an easy replacement motor without replacing the rear end I would love to hear it.

If I can't replace I'll have to rebuild. At one point I had a friend look at the engine and a part seems to be missing which would go between the carb and Crank case. Does anyone know here I could purchase one of these? When looking at the rebuild kit (top and bottom) I don't see seals for the bottom of the engine pictured. Wouldn't these be needed to rebuild the engine?

This happens to be the first one that came up in a google search.

It has 6 days left in the auction. http://www.ebay.com/itm/EZ-Go-Marath...3D400820711244

Can you post up some pics of the engine bay? We may get a better understanding of what you need.

Thanks Cart Around, obviously I wasn't sure what to call the part but I believe that this is what I need. I'll get some pics together to post tomorrow.

You might need the reed valve cage that attaches to it.

If you can look directly into the cylinder, and see the piston, your reed valves are missing too.

You are right about the reed valve cage. I'll need that also.

I have a spare, as well as the intake manifold/adapter, and may be able to save you some money on the rest of the rebuild.

TheGDFP, thanks for the offer. I'd definitely be interested in any parts you can spare.

This is one of the gaskets that you will need. http://www.golfcartking.com/EZGO-Ree...ket-p/4776.htm He is a sponsor.

When I was searching for the intake, I saw a reed cage on the bottom of the same page.

EDIT: It was sold a month ago. http://www.ebay.com/itm/EZ-Go-Marath...-/151530949848
