Question Rev limiter bad ground?

My 96 carryall 2 plus 350cc, has what I believe is a loose ground on th rev limiter. The cart will stop accerating often, and if I push up on the bottom of the rev limiter it will rev up slightly and they the accelerates. I have to do this less as the engine warms. Thanks a lot for helping.

First of all , I have to turn the key off and on approx. 8-10 times or so before it will start . There is a click each time the the key is turned on though. Once it starts before it will go, I have to usually push up on the bottom of the rev limiter. The person I bought the cart from told me that he believed it was a loose ground wire that comes out of the rev limiter. Im just not sure if it could be something else or if there is a simple fix until I can get a new rev limiter. Thank you for helping.

When you say 8-10 times you hear a click? does the engine start cranking over, but just wont start until you push up on this wire??

other words we need to know if the engine is cranking over??

It clicks but doesn't turn over.As soon as it turns over it starts right up. It usually won't accelerate or move until I push up on the rev limiter. When I push up on the rev limiter, the rpms increase slightly and it will then move.

The Rev limiter is #22 (lower left) in the pic... Is this what your referring to?

There are 2 bolts... Left and right, you could try to tighten them down,
If it won't start at all then, remove the brown wire that's underneath the left bolt (@ #1)
and see if it starts, if it does... your Rev limiter is bad and should be replaced.
