Default Unknown controller #1

I visit a scrap yard regularly, and they sometimes get golf carts in. They're usually pretty banged up by the time I see 'em, but I can sometimes get useful-looking parts from the hulks.

Recently, there was a Cushman industrial truck came in. It was 36 volts, and I glommed the speed controller box from it. The device is 4" X 9" X 3"high, and was bolted to a plate near the motor. There's 4 heavy terminals, M-, B-, B+, and A2. Along with those are 3 small terminals that take a spade-type push-on connector. I assume that those go to the speed pedal.

I couldn't get the speed pedal off the thing because of the way it was sitting. Can someone tell me if it's just a potentiometer, and what value it might be? Is this thing useful as a replacement for a resistor-style controller on my old Legend or Cushman? (see message in intro section)

TIA: <<Jim>>

Probly curtis 1204 or 1205. Should be a 0-5K pot. Get the numbers off it and google it.

Roady,
I didn't see any numbers on it. There's a spot on the end where it looks like it might have had a plate of some sort, but nothing's there now.

Any possibility of using it to replace the old resistor speed control?

Yes, this one would work but #2 wouldn't.

3 small terminals: 1 is key on power and the other 2 are for the throttle pot.
