Default Wire to FNR mount

Hello EZ-GO people. I have a new to me 1994 which I assume is a Medalist.

Just started toying with it today, know nothing about the cart's history. There is a wire from the pack positive battery's negative post run to one of the mounting bolts for the FNR. I can't see why/how this would be correct.

I can't find this on what I again must assume is the correct diagram.

Any input/thoughts greatly appreciated.
