Default Need Help with old Harley

I am wondering where to start on this thing. I dont know to much about electric engines. It has six 6volt batteries which im a little confused with the silnoids(?) why are there 5 of them? How should my batteries be wired? It wont hold a charge for more than 15 to 20 minutes. This cart used to be gas but was switched to electric, the motor is also a harley motor, so I'm guessing the whole electric setup was take from a different model of harley and just put in this one. Anyone know of a wiring diagram or is this some sort of custom setup?
