I have the an ezgo Pds, xtc500 controller with 42V Napa batteries. And stock 36v motor. Anyone have the field map for the controller.

Re: Xtc500 field map
Hey Johnny can I send you my log from my controller. I’m not sure what’s going on. I start out with 44v and then after crusing my batteries are low. Then I park it and it’s back at 44V.

Re: Xtc500 field map
I didn't get much past the 324 marker and I saw your pack dip down to 20 volts. You have battery problems.

Re: Xtc500 field map
Thank you. So in your opinion should I get all new battery’s. Or just replace the bad ones.

Can I run 48v on this 36v motor?

Re: Xtc500 field map
Qualified yes. It'll run, but it's not going to last very long.
If you turn the 500A XCT down to about 300A and turn the max RPM down to about 6000 and keep your foot out of it, it'll probably last the rest of the summer, possibly a year or more, but you'll want to have a better motor ready to install by next spring. In other words, to go to a 48V battery pack, you will eventually need a motor that can handle 48V, but you can spread the expenses over in two steps. Batteries and 48V charger now (maybe a solenoid and a few cables also), and better motor later. 8V batteries have both terminals on same side, so longer interconnecting cables are needed and if you have something other than the MZJ400 solenoid, you'll have to get one for 48V. How tall are your tires? 18" is stock height. Your motor peaked at 7,107 RPM, which is 30.6 MPH on stock height tires. The field is being weakened down to a low of 1.6A, so motor heat will be an issue with that motor and field map. Of course, if you get an aftermarket motor, it'll need a different field map. |

Re: Xtc500 field map
Mixing new batteries with old is a waste of money, the new ones are overcharged Everytime, so they are degraded to the level of the old ones.
48v is too much for the stock PDS motor, 42v is the sweet spot. Otherwise, get a new motor. Since you got a 500, get a new motor to fully utilize the awesome controller . |
