Default Solenoid problem?

It appears I have a solenoid problem. I did do a search on here, but didn't quite find the answer I am looking for. Here's what I have done:

Turn on key - no click. push accelerator - no click.

Disconnected everything and tested the large terminals with ohm meter. Nothing. Just reads OL, which is what it says before you touch the two probes together, which when you do goes to zero.

Next, I reconnected everything, and pushed the accelerator with me holding the DMM probes on the small terminals. I get pack voltage then, but nothing in the solenoid. This tells me, with my limited knowledge, that the solenoid is bad.

before I order a new one, can anyone confirm this? And would I need to go ahead and order a a new resistor and diode with it? Or could the resistor or diode be the problem?

Thanks.

If the small terminals are powered, and the big terminals are still open, yeah, solenoid is bad. You were seeing full battery voltage at the small terminals?

I would personally remove all the solenoid connections. Jump the small terminals directly to a full battery bank (polarity doesn't matter) and confirm no continuity or click at the big terminals before binning it. If it works isolated like this, I would try replacing diode first.

I am not an electrical engineer if you get other opinions.

When the small terminals are powered (accelerator pushed), no click at the solenoid. Nothing. And yes, I am getting full pack voltage at the small terminals when the accelerator is pushed.

Just to be clear. Negative lead on one small terminal and positive lead on other and you get pack voltage when the pedal is pushed? If yes bad solenoid

Remember that solenoid activation is a function of the controller after it receives a signal from the foot pedal micro switch.
