Default Been a while, but it's time for another project..

Hey guys, it's been a few years since I've been on. Hope you're all doing well.

I have an itch for another cart, and have a line on one that's a bit newer than I'm familiar with.

It looks to be an '07 DS regen model, if I'm looking at it right.

The good is: it's pretty cheap, and has newer batteries in it.

The bad: It doesn't currently run, and has no charger.

According to the owner, the controller is good/replaced.

If I'm searching right, the no-run state could be a few things. It could be in a low voltage state. And the solenoid or F/R switch, or both could be bad.

I'm supposed to look at it tomorrow. Is there anything outside of those things to look at?

Thanks in advance, fellas!

Do you have pics of it? If it's a regen, it should have a serial number that starts with AQ. How much are they asking for the cart? If the batteries were run down completely flat, they could be junk, so consider the cost of new batteries in the mix. Where is the charger that the cart had? Nobody just loses a charger, so that raises a red flag of the origin of the cart.

I thought the same kind of things. Turns out it's a young guy that bought a handful of them, with the intent to fix some of them up and turn a little profit. I can't fault him for that.

What turned me off of it was the fact that it had some questionable 12v batteries in it. Supposedly they texted good, but that's a $1000 gamble. And a quick look with a multimeter showed the pack at 36 volts or so. Which tells me he ran it low.

I made him an offer looking at it as just a roller, which I'm cool with.

Where are you located? Did he bite on your offer? It has four 12s in it versus 6 8vs?

Thumbs up Re: Been a while, but it's time for another project..

I'm up in Eastern Washington state.

Yeah, it has 4 12's. He didn't accept my offer, which was ok. There were just too many variables for me. As you guys know, a non-running, electric cart cart could cost quite a lot to get squared away. So I made an offer counting on pretty much replacing everything but the motor.

He sold it to someone else, and that's good. I found a pretty clean gas TXT for a good price. I'm picking it up tomorrow
