Default Press Gas come to crawl

I just took possession of my grandfathers 1991 Yahama G2. I took it in and it is now the proud owner of a new: starter, fuel pump, air filter, spark plugs, & belt drive. Last week problems started with climbing without pulling the choke. Now the choke cable moves, but no "increase or change" in the engine occurs. I press the gas & it crawls, I have to push it to get it up a 5 deg. incline. I have no idea and would like to learn. Any guesses would be GREAT!

The G2's are notorious for running like that when the air box isn't sealed right. Make sure your filter is clean and it's sealed right and that the tubes have no holes or crackes in it. By the way I have 2 G2's and have sold off a few newer/nicer carts just to keep those 2. I love em.

I was thinking the same thing. Put it in neutral and see if it revs up.

Yes, the motor is running, but it never "revs" up. It used too when the choke was adjusted. Now it is a constant but consistant motor run, just no go.

Thanks JcXtreme 72 I'll check that out! I do love this cart for a whole lot of reasons. It ain't pretty (yet) but its a keeper. I've already had the cart guy ask to buy it if I ever sell, doubtful!
