shot solinoid?????
I have a 1975 model marathon recently the solinoind wires on the one side of the sol are getting hot and burning off the connector I noticed that the post that they bolt to is very loose when i repair these wires and replace it runs great for a short amount of time 1/2 hr or so then burns off an end if i replce the solinoid do you think i am looking the right direction also i have 6 3 cell batterys so thus must be a 24 volt unit does that sound correct thanks for any help you can give me

If studs on the solenoid are loose then yes, replace it. Each cell of a battery is ~2.1v. Math says if you have 6 of these with 3 caps/cells each then 6x3x2.1 is not 24.

Any GC shop will have the 36 volt solenoid in question.
