Default 2011 RXV motor brake voltage

Will a malfunctioning voltage regulator cause the brake to lock up? Installed new brake and after a week it started to engage while having with ur foot on the forward pedal. Cart will move forward and backward but it has some resistance and the brake is heating up.

Loosen the three bolts that hold the brake on. Flip the run/tow switch a few times and leave it in tow. Tighten the bolts evenly to 30 inch/lbs. If you don't have a torque wrench only tighten them slightly past having the lock washers compressed.

If that doesn't help, your solenoid could be bad. If you replace it you need a 36 volt solenoid. The ezgo part # is 609428.

If the brake isn't an OEM part that could also be the problem.

Or the voltage drops too much under load and the controller tries to protect itself. Measure the voltage while driving...

I replaced the solenoid and performed the brake adjustment like you said. When I put it in tow and turn the key I can hear the click of the brake releasing but the cart is still tough to move in tow/haul. I can push it but definitely resistance. The new brake did get hot just wandering if it ruined it in some way.
Should it roll completely free in tow/haul????
Also what is strange is that if I switch the plugs under the plastic cover (1 to 3 and 2 to 4) for emergency brake release I hear the click and it rolls completely free. Why the difference????

Have key off.
Put Run/Tow to Tow mode.
Turn key to N and the cart should move freely.

It does not it has some drag from the brake on the motor. If I switch the plugs for emergency brake release i hear the click and then it moves freely. Why the difference????

I think the emergency brake release is a different scenario... try to pull back the brake pedal by hand and moove the cart ( in tow ). If there is any pressure on the pedal, the cart brakes.
In my case, a installed brake light switch could cause that.

Will try thanks. Just trying not to buy another $300 brake if it’s not ruined. It’s only 2 weeks old but did get hot while my son was driving it.

Yea no luck on that. The brake just seems to be partially engaged for some reason. Maybe the heat warped the brake disc or pressure plate. Running out of things to check.

OK, if it's a problem with the parking brake, you could have a look inside ( pretty simple thing ) remove the brake from motor and loosen both screws of the brake cross wise. Check vor any damage.
