Default yamaha g14 no signal to solenoid

Ive got what i believe to be a 95 g14 yamahauler. I have power every place ive checked but no signal to the solenoid from my gas peddle. if i jump the solenoid and press the gas peddle down i can get it to run, if my switch tests good what would be my next step. ive put a new battery in along with a new solenoid. any help would be appreciated.

What are you jumping on the solenoid, the two big post?
Did you check your fuse?
If that's good, using your meter on DC volts, put the positive probe on positive battery, then to each of the two small post on your solenoid.
One should be grounded and give you battery volts on meter.
If neither give volts you need to determine which is ground post and find the problem there.
If you get volts from one post then the other post is the activation or positive post and should get 12V when you push the pedal.
If you don't then you have a bad key switch, foot pedal switch or break or loose connection going to positive side of the solenoid.

yes i jumped the two big posts. ive got power where i should have power. i press the peddle down and power goes away on positive side of smaller wires. i took the stop switch out and took apart found the spring was broken inside. gonna order new and see what happens

ok so, up date i put a new stop switch in and i still have to jump the two big posts on the solenoid to get it to run, but when i let off the gas it shuts off like its supposed to. any ideas what else could be wrong. might start unwrapping wires and check for a broken wire

Sounds like you may have a bad key switch actually... I have had them drop out under a load...Try either bypassing the switch or check voltage under a load before and after key switch...simple test that may save you some time chasing wires...

Yea I agree, don't mess with wire harness yet,
If the solenoid will not energize with the pedal pushed but you push pedal and jump the two big post it will start and continue to run after you remove the jumper? until you let off of the pedal?

What happens when you jump from positive battery to positive small post on solenoid?

Have you also tried jumping small black post on solenoid to battery negative to eliminate ground issue?

eliminated the possibility of a bad key switch. i took one from another cart that works and same thing happens, nothing. i did run a positive to positive and negative to negative o from the battery to solenoid and nothing.
