Re: 295 mci no power
Just finished putting it on. Just the coil made a decent difference. felt stronger for sure. I cleaned the oem 350 carb and put that on. and a muffler that the po cut in half, assumming he cut baffles out then weld dual pipes coming out.
between both of those it feels way better then it did, but i still think its lacking. but it could just be the cart. Im used to a gas clubcar ds with stock tires. since mine has the bigger tires and the fronts are filled with water that might be why it accelerates slower. with the governor adjusted all the way in shouldnt it be spinning the engine fast enough to start having issues? |

Re: 295 mci no power
So new oem carb. 13mm and correct jet. New ngk sparkplugs bpr5es (is that right or does this use the 4es?) And a full fresh tank of gas. I have it working good enough, but it's still not right. When it's cold, it has no power and will bog down when I try to accelerate. Once it warms up it's fine. Occasionally it will also backfire out of the muffler when I'm deceleration. But I think that's a linkage adjustment.

Did you purchase an OEM coil from ezgo ? I remember you saying you had a coil coming and wanted to make sure it wasn't an aftermarket one. The MCI coil from Ezgo cost $375.71. The backfire could be linkage not closing the throttle plate all the way when you let off the pedal. Make sure throttle cable is not pinched and moves free. Check the accelerator also to make sure it don't hang anywhere. Accelerator Cable Adjustment To adjust the accelerator cable, position the cable in the accelerator cable bracket at the rear axle so that the throttle is fully closed while allowing 1" travel at the top of the accelerator pedal. Once correctly positioned, tighten the cable securing nuts on the bracket. Throttle Cable Adjustment To adjust the throttle cable, check to ensure carburetor throttle plate is fully closed and governor arm is rotated fully counter-clockwise. Position cable in the throttle cable bracket on rear axle so that the carburetor and governor remain as previously positioned with no tension, but minimal slack, on the cable and secure cable in position by tightening nuts on cable end. These carburetors come with an idle screw. Make sure its backed all the way off or just remove it all together because these engines don't idle. |
