Default 1984 KF82 Club Car DS won’t turn over

I have a KF82 that won’t turn over. It will now and then start the drive clutch but it won’t take off. Bogs down. It was running great then stopped. Changed the carb a month ago. Cleaned electric fuel pump and gas is going both ways. Pulled spark plug and is black so guessing lack of air flow. I have removed all part off the front of the engine and crank case.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Dink

Inline spark tester is the easiest way. But if you don't have a spark tester, pull the spark plug and grip it with a pair of insulated pliers. Hold the body of the plug up against against the motor to ground it. Then push the pedal like you would to start/run it. You should visually see the spark plug arcing over the gap and hear it clicking.

If you don't have spark, here's the test procedure. I know it says 1986-1991 because that's the manual it came out of. 1984-85 carts had some different wiring and fuel systems, but I'm pretty sure the ignition system would test the same way.

I have spark. Changed fuel lines... Filter.

Without the air filter on the carb set up, I started it. I have gas coming out of the front of the carb.

Guessing float is stuck?

It appears my throttle that is attached to the carb is getting stuck as well. It won’t reset when I stop pushing the gas pedal.

Yeah there should be a spring on the throttle arm that snaps your throttle back after you let off the gas.

It starts to engage then kicks the belt out of place and idles. Won’t turn over with power. Granted the air filter compartment is off.

What it sounds like you're seeing is the electricity from the starter/generator turning the motor over but the motor isn't actually firing up and starting and running on it's own power. The belt will be loose until the motor starts and the clutch sheaves begin to "pinch" it in order to start moving the cart. Can you upload a video to YouTube and share a link?

Here's my 1990 Club Car starting and running in neutral. This is what it should look and sound like when it's running normally:
