75:1 Fuel Mix OK for HD 3 Wheeler?
Hi all. Just looking for a confirmation here. As per my other post, I removed and cleaned out my tank today and put in all new gas. Dad wanted 50:1, I told him it was supposed to be 85:1. He said his mix was better for teh engine, but it smoked a lot with his mix. So to make him a bit happier, I mixed up the fuel at 75:1 using TC W3 rated 2 stroke marine oil. Is it alright to use this mix, or should I add something for protection? Just asking to make sure as I do not want to have anything happen. Thank you.

85 to 1 is spec. 75 to 1 is more oil per gallon than is 85 to 1 so you are fine. If anything, you may be a bit smokier here or there is all.

Thank you. That is exactly what I was looking for. At this mix, there is no smoke compared to what was coming out of it with the 50:1 mix that was in there.
