Default DIY/Homemade Rear Seat

Been browsing through this forum for several weeks and I must say thanks for all of the help that you all have provided me so far! Can you help me a little more?

Has anyone built their own rear seat(s) with wood or metal and do you have any pictures to help my creative mind figure this build out?

I have a 1998 Western 400 which is basically an EzGo Electric chassis with a different body on it. The issue is, from what I can tell, the body is different enough with the rear beer cooler than the standard EzGo body and rear seat kits will not fit correctly. If anyone can tell me differently I would appreciate that as well! I would hate to order one to find out that it will not fit.

Interesting take on the rear seat newguy. I have seen that before. Might work for a quick solution and it would be removable

I built one about 7 years ago. Here is some pictures.

I used mostly angle iron, 2x4's & sand/paint. If I remember I think it cost me about $50 to build.

Here is what the rear end looks like. The beverage cooler takes up a lot of the rear cargo area so I would just have to kick it out a bit....definitely dooable

I made one on my marathon and it is set back a little past the back wheels.
One problem with this is that with 2 adults on the back it makes the steering very sketchy.
One benifit is when I put a vc460 in it does long wheelies now.
I put longer and stiffer coils in the back but it did not help with the steering much.
So I would try to keep the seat as close to the rear seat bars as possible.

hahaha

The idea is to keep it as close to the roof supports as possible but they are already off the back of the seats 10 inches so the cooler can open. that doesn't leave me too much room but I should be able to keep it tight. Maybe I could do a nice non padded backrest to keep the weight load closer to center?
