I'm not 100% sure for the G16, but I don't think you want a "jaw" type puller for the flywheel. The factory sometimes provides two or three tapped holes in the flywheel and you then use a steering wheel type puller along with the proper bolts in the tapped holes. I'll check my G16 repair manual to see if it shows how. I'll let you know if I find it. If you are planning a rebuild I would think a repair manual should be your first purchase. Good luck - RAY

NO JAW PULLER! I have broken a flywheel that way. There should be three bosses around the center shaft, sometimes drilled/tapped, sometimes not. If not, drill / tap it, then use a slotted wheel puller as said above.

Don't chastize me guy's.....Yamaha service manual calls for a 2 or 3 jaw puller. I've had good sucsess with the nut and lock washer removed, reinstall the nut flush with the crank threads and use a "dead blow" hammer with a good "rap". This must be done only after the rod/piston assy has been removed! Why they didn't have drilled/tapped holes is a mystery to me. Good luck on your rebuild!

Yamaha only had to put em together, not take apart !! - so they didn't worry about it.
