That charger will be fine. I would still calibrate the SOC to read 100% when the charger switches off as SOC cannot be predicted accurately using voltage with LiFePO4. Even with a charge voltage of 3.5v per cell, you can get pretty close to 100% SOC if you allow to saturate for long enough. This will not harm the battery as the high SOC is not the issue, the high voltage is.

Great news, thanks again Pat. Just an update, I did install the pack today with all of the input. Runs great, definitely a bit more speed. It seems to still eat a lot of battery, but I have big tires and I have the powerful controller. I do feel that my motor is aging quickly, due to it being made for more speed, and not torque. However, that is expected. I have the FSIP Speed Motor and it has been great, it gets really really hot but it always has. I am sure I am straining it too much.

I do have the XCT500 from alltrax. Are there any changes I should make in it to better suit the LifePo4 pack?

Well done Croq! You should be getting more range from your 230Ah LiFePO4 setup compared to lead acid. Torque should be higher too, better acceleration and hill climbing.

I’m afraid I can’t help you with the Alltrax settings. My experience with lithium batteries is vast but my cart is just a stock Club Car. I’ve got no experience with controller or motor modifications. Member Volt_Ampare may be able to chime in here and give some advice.

Cheers
Pat.

Only thing I would suggest would be to adjust the max battery current setting to lower than max current. There is nothing in Alltrax specific to LiFePO4 batteries - at least that I am aware of. Your BMS is there to protect the batteries. You can try setting the max current to around 300 or 350 amps and see if you notice any loss in performance. You might only notice if you drive up a hill. Do a test run using a laptop with the Alltrax monitor program to see what your current looks like.
