ST480 Vanguard carb question

I have a 2003 EZGO ST480 Workhorse with Vanguard 16hp engine. The previous owner was in the process of "fixing it", and I received it with engine partially apart (and some parts missing of course). Previous owner had replaced the carburetor with aftermarket, and it has a different throttle shaft connector. The attachment is at bottom of connector (push/forward to rev engine) vs OEM with has the cable connection on top, which pulls to accelerate (via throttle cable connected to governor). I notice all the aftermarket carbs I have seen have the type of connector like previous owner purchased. I am looking for a replacement carb with throttle connector that pulls (like original). I really don't have the room for a bell crank / external spring, etc. The OEM carb had the spring on the throttle shaft. Any suggestions on where i can find a carb with correct throttle shaft connector? I checked eBay, no luck. And online cart suppliers seem to just have Robin carbs. The Briggs site I found online did not even have that version I am looking for. So 2 questions: 1) Suggestions for a source for this carb? 2) If you have installed aftermarket carb with different throttle connector, can you share a picture of how you rigged it?
