Default Club Car Load Capacity?

About a year ago I picked up a used 98 DS gas cart with a flip rear seat/cargo deck. I cleaned the carburetor, replaced the belts and battery and replaced the original rear springs with some 3 leaf ones. It happily hauls whatever we pile onto it. How much can it carry without damaging it? It's regular load including driver is in the 1000 pound range. Do I need to worry about damaging something? Do I need to beef anything up to take the abuse?

I did a rear 3-leaf spring swap as well. Judging from the looks of the I-beam frame, I don't think you have anything to worry about. Mine rides like a hard tail MC when empty. I think I would go for a lesser spring rate in hindsight. I was originally worried about interference with larger rear tires, but put 4x200 lb guys in the cart, and it drops maybe 1/2 inch. You'll be fine!

Thanks. I was worried about the transmission and axles. Mine is used mostly as a little truck. That is the best looking tire set up I've ever seen on a golf cart. I'm rethinking my wheel and tire choice now.

Welcome to BGW Ron!

Your drive belt will most likely take the brunt of the abuse, When the one you have on now starts to show wear,
it may not be a bad idea to get a severe duty drive belt from Cart Parts Plus!
