Default Alltrax install in G22?

I was told to buy the DCX400 G19 for my G22 by Alltrax support. It comes with G19 instructions that seem to be wrong for the G22. I have contacted them to see if my assumptions are correct. Has anyone put the G19 Alltrax in the G22? Any wiring instruction errors?

Secondly, do I need to program this thing initially or is it ready to go as is and I can program it later for additional options and stuff?

Thanks in advance.

If you ordered from Alltrax call their tech department. Better yet if you ordered it from one of the site sponsor call them, they will have you up and running in no time.

I think I have it figured out after comparing the G19 wiring to the G22. I emailed Alltrax and they sent me a pic of a G19 install. The only thing i had not figured out was how to connect like they wanted me to. They said the crimp on the supplied wire was not supposed to happen. The pic helped a lot.

Question Re: Alltrax install in G22?

The controller should work fine out of the box. It will be set for basic operation unless you told them something differant. You can not program a DCX controller though it's set at the factory. You can send it back and they can change it though. The AXE controller's can be reprogramed by the owner.

I have programmed many DCX controllers and you can do it too.
Some of the bgw members here are programming them also. The document below shows how to power up the DCX (and others) on the bench for programming. I use the 9v batteries in series as shown for 18v. The usb to serial cable can be purchased from Carts unlimited for $15 with any controller purchase.
Also, Are you sure the G22 instruction is not on the back side of the G19 instruction sheet?

Andy, I think you might be getting NCX confused with DCX.

Yeah, it's programmable. It was one of my requirements. http://www.alltraxinc.com/Products_DCX.html

Yeah, they don't have any G22 instructions for some reason. Minor differences in the 19 and 22. My confusion came from the instruction to attach the supplied wire with the supplied butt connector. It was already crimped? They told me they have quit doing that now. lol
